Welcome to the 2008 spring season at Beat the Streets!! There are so many exciting things happening I hardly know where to start.
Let's begin with our Fortress League, which is getting ready to kick off its first season ever. It will be the first time that NYC middle schools are engaging in dual meet competition with box scores, referees and fans. 20 of our best BTS teams will be competing in a 5 dual meet schedule with a dual team championship to follow.
Of course, other novice teams will be also competing in developmental scrimmages, wrestling days, and clinics all spring. And every BTS program will be gearing up for the biggest competition of them all: the 2008 NYC Middle School Championships at the historic Harlem Armory on Saturday May 17. There will be wrestlers competing on at least 8 mats with Fortress and novice tournaments going on at the same time! Please mark Saturday, May 17 down in your calendars and start training now to prepare for this date.
The Beat the Streets developmental training spring clinic will begin this Monday, March 10 at Hunter College, running every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6-8pm. This is a great opportunity for all middle and high school wrestlers to improve their wrestling skills. There will be All-Americans and NCAA Champions teaching during these sessions. Many of the BTS staff including the executive director will be on hand to assist in the skill development as well.
Coaches, we will be mailing you important organizational documents like team rosters, coaches contracts, and equipment rosters to you.
PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR TEAM AND EQUIPMENT ROSTERS OUT AND FAX OR E-MAIL THEM TO THE MAIN OFFICE.

Also, instead of mailing the Handbook to our spring coaches, we're attaching all important documents to this email. Winter Coaches can disregard them. The gear order, USA wrestling roster, coach's agreement, and w-9 all need to be filled out and returned to us. They can be mailed to:
