Dear Coaches,
The turkey is roasting the the oven and the delicious pies and treats are on the table. In fact there seems to be food everywhere! However there is a second view of muscular individuals running and drilling and sweating to lose every extra pound they can. Welcome to the strange and wonderful dichotomy we call wrestling season. I hope you are as excited as I am at the start of our 2007/2008 wresting season. PSAL has already began their training and our Beat the Streets middle schools are right behind with a December 1 start.
Winter season coaches, please note the following important details.
1.If you have not been to a Coaches College clinic this season you MUST attend the December 1st CHAMPION CLINIC/ SCRIMMAGE @ Grand street Campus (Saturday 12/1 )
2.Please watch for our last shipment to your schools which include very important items including for many your coaches handbook which has your equipment rosters enclosed. (coaches who attended the certification were given the handbooks at the training) YOU MUST RETURN THESE COMPLETED ROSTERS TO OUR BTS OFFICE VIA FAX ( 212) 798 6074. Please call us before you send the fax so we can be looking for it. Without these completed rosters there will be NO EQUIPMENT sent to your team!
3. Please note and follow the the newly updated 30 day teaching plan of the 7 basic skills. This is an excellent teaching resource and should be used at all times.
Please note that we will have an important and exciting event Saturday December 1 @ GRAND ST. CAMPUS 10AM -3PM. It is our first annual BTS Champion Clinic and Scrimmage. The clinic theme will be centered on "Russian style techniques" and should be extremely beneficial to all coaches and wrestlers who attend. ALL BTS coaches and wrestlers are welcome to attend as well as PSAL coaches and their wrestlers. We have a great clinician lineup and there will be light but live scrimmaging of all wrestlers at the end of the clinic.
Hey don't forget about the Northeast Duals that will be held at Hudson County Community College this Thanksgiving weekend.(Sat. 11/24 ) Some of the teams featured are Oklahoma St., Michigan and Hofstra University. This is big time wrestling at its best! I personally will attend this exciting event.
