Joe Dubuque, a two time NCAA Champion and Chris Weidman, a two time NCAA
All-American,
demonstrating their skills to BTS wrestlers and coaches.
Last weekend, Hofstra University Head Coach Tom Shifflet and his staff invited the Beat the Streets Wrestling program to the Hofstra University campus on Long Island and conducted a two hour clinic for 300 middle and high school wrestlers plus 25 of their coaches and parents. Following the clinic, the wrestlers visited the Campus Recreation Center and Cafeteria for lunch.
After lunch they were treated to observing their first college match with Hofstra University, ranked 12th in the country, hosting the University of Pennsylvania, ranked 18th. Prior to the match, a short presentation was provided for the President, Board Members, Executive Director and PSAL Commissioner. The announcer asked all the Beat the Streets people to stand up and be recognized by the 1500 hundred fans.
It was a great day for all.
