Enam Hasan of Baruch High School became the first ever Beat The Streets Wrestler to qualify for the New York State Division 2 Championship Tournament last weekend.
Enam began his Beat The Streets wrestling career in 7th grade at Baruch Middle School when he was given a permission slip in the cafeteria during lunch. Little did we know what talents were hidden inside of Enam.
Training with his twin brother Jabreal, Enam quickly became addicted to wrestling. DVDs were given to him which he studied nightly. Enam mastered theJohn Smith single leg takedown by watching the DVDs and downloading videos from the internet.
Enam and Jabreal both wrestled for Beat the Streets in 7th and 8th Grade and attended Rob Koll's Cornell University Wrestling camp this past summer. Enam has the highest GPA in the freshman class at Baruch High School and the best work ethic on the wrestling team.
Congratulations Enam, and good luck in Rochester!
