2008 2nd Annual New York City Middle School Championships

The second Annual Beat the Streets Middle School Championships attracted over 600 Middle School wrestlers from the 40 Spring programs culminating their season.  The Championships were divided into Large Schools and Small Schools with full wrestle backs, officials, tournament operations, a grand parade, music with individual and team championships and the mascot "Tony" the Tiger.

Monsignor Farrell Middle School won the small school championship and Roosevelt Island won the Large School championship.

There was a Novice Tournament for all first year wrestlers and teams held prior to the Middle School Championships and MS 50, coached by Reona Kumagai, won the team championships.

On Tuesday, May 20th at the Bowery Hotel the Celebration and Benefit will honor all these great coaches and provide awards to the Beat the Streets Man of the Year , High School Coach of the Year, Developmental High School of the Year and the Middle School Coach of the Year.

Beat the Streets will have Dan Gable, John Smith, Lee Kemp and Leroy Smith as it honored guests to speak and inspire all our 100 coaches.  We invite all who can to attend and support the Celebration. We are doing amazing things for kids in New York City.
